Family Medicine

Family medicine is a specialty in primary care that includes health care for the entire family. Family physicians are trained to manage chronic illnesses, women’s health and pediatric illnesses. They are up-to-date in preventative medicine and can also treat urgent/acute illnesses. Dr. K is a board certified family medicine physician and has been active in the Louisiana Academy of Family Physicians as well as the American Academy of Family Physicians. She particularly has an interest in Women’s health. She is skilled in IUD insertions and removals, Nexplanon insertions and removals, pap and breast exams, and general screening for men. She recently published an article on treating liver disease and HIV/AIDS. She stays well-informed of the most recent medical knowledge to provide a valuable service to her patients.
